It's another battle between Microsoft and one of its rivals. And this time, the challenger is Google -- the Internet search leader.
Google is trying to convince federal and state authorities that Microsoft's new operating system is stifling competition.
Google has filed a 49-page document with the Justice Department and with state attorneys general. In it, Google claims Vista gets in the way of desktop search programs that are able to sniff out data stored on a computer's hard drive.
Vista comes with its own desktop search function. It competes with a free program Google introduced in 2004. Several other companies also offer desktop search applications. |

Silverlight is a cross platform, cross browser .NET plug-in that enables designers and developers to build rich media experiences and RIAs for browsers. The preview builds we released this week currently support Firefox, Safari and IE browsers on both the Mac and Windows.
A beta version of Silverlight, the cross-platform, cross-browser plug-in with a "go-live" license is now available. The license allows developers and designers to use Microsoft Expression Studio and Visual Studio to create commercial Silverlight Web experiences.

The Microsoft ASP.NET Futures May 2007 release contains an early developer preview of features providing a wide range of new functionality for both ASP.NET and Silverlight. This release also introduces support for dynamic languages in ASP.NET, which is built on the new Dynamic Language Runtime (DLR). The DLR extends language choice for developers and brings the benefits of dynamic languages to the entire .NET platform from client to server.
